Ceremony Prep and Aftercare
In preparation, you can think of specific intentions to bring focus to your ceremony. Your intentions can be tied into different aspects of yourself, which include your mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual bodies. Kambo is one of the strongest natural anti-inflammatory, antibiotic, antimicrobial and anesthetic substances found in the world and one of the strongest, natural ways to strengthen the immune system.
Some thoughts and ideas: What sort of emotions would you like to look at, feel, or release? What stories or patterns are you carrying? What would you like to bring into your life? What would you like to let go of? Does fear show up and influence any of your decisions/behavior? What is the vision you would like to create for your relationship with yourself, interactions with the world, and career?
Otherwise, you can trust your inner guidance and know that what needs to be worked on will be shown to you. The frog already knows what you’re going to be working on! Trust and gratitude will take you far.
BRING
Layers of clothing (your temperature may fluctuate)
Hair tie for long hair
Pillow
Blanket
Yoga mat
1 gallon or 3 liters of clean drinking water (no distilled water)
Optional: Change of clothes, sacred items, journal and pen, snack, coconut water to rehydrate
We recommended to have the rest of your day be relaxed.
After Kambo is removed from the top layer of skin, the entry points are closed with a Peruvian anti-bacterial/fungal tree sap (Dragon's Blood). This helps the entry points heal faster and acts as a "liquid bandage", while offering a secure antibacterial barrier. DO NOT cover points with bandage. DO NOT pick at the points or try to remove/clean off the Dragon's Blood. If possible, do not apply anything to the entry points other than saline solution or water and soap to cleanse, and Dragon’s Blood to protect for healing.
The entry points will heal and fade with time but depending on your skin color and type you may always have small visible scars. Most people see their Kambo scars as a badge of honor.
